THE PAD IN TRUCKEE

The Pad

Hello friends! The Pad in Truckee is fully furnished as our second home. It’s a lovely place to spend time with friends and family. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials and we have lots of fun books, games and puzzles to play with. The gas fireplace provides ambience and warmth and wallpaper is our friend :) There are inside towels, pool towels for the hot tub/sauna and plenty of bedding and cozy blankets to snuggle under. There is shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the showers.

The Location

I cannot say enough about what an easy and convenient location this is in Winter and Summer.

Located just off the intersection of Highways 80 and 89, The Boulders Community is incredibly convenient to many things.

Palisades, North Star, Sugar Bowl, Tahoe Donner, Donner Ski Ranch, and Boreal are all an easy drive.

CVS, Save Mart grocery store, Village Pizzeria, Starbucks and Mehfil Indian Bistro are literally around the corner.

Across the street is our favorite hole in the wall brewery - Donner Creek Brewing (great for a pint, a grilled cheese sandwich and a game of pool), Wong’s Garden Chinese and Start Haus Ski and Bike for your sports rental needs.

Additional grocery stores, restaurants, cafes and sports/rental stores are all a couple of minutes away, including New Moon Natural Foods, Coffeebar and “Mountain Macys,” the best hardware store in the world, Ace Mountain Hardware and Sports!

The tourist center of downtown Truckee is a 5 minute drive and has a plethora of history, bars, restaurants, and shops. The historic Truckee train station is there.

You can hike or bike directly from The Pad to a vast network of trails that surround us and Donner Memorial State Park. The local sport and bike stores also have excellent information about the trail networks.

Donner Lake is an easy drive - and a wonderful place to spend hot summer days.

We are 2 mins off the 80 Freeway; you save a bunch of drive and traffic time by choosing to stay in Truckee and not drive to the larger Lake. Truckee also has way better and hipper all round amenities than Tahoe City or anywhere on the actual lake, in my humble opinion.
